We have received many inquiries of people asking how to help our employees specifically. At this time we have 110 displaced employees with several of our employees losing everything. As our staff gets into Gatlinburg, we are receiving updates of the condition of their homes daily.
The generosity of our community has been overwhelming and we appreciate your prayers and support very much. Any funds raised will directly support Ober Gatlinburg employees and their families. Please share.
Wildlife Encounter update!! For Those of you who are wondering, our animal facility was built with the safety of our animals in mind. We have had an established disaster plan to deal with sheltering our animals during times of emergency and were fortunate to have come through this tragedy with no harm to our staff or animals. Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers. Our prayers are with those less fortunate!
A photo album that shows how incredibly lucky we are. These photos are from the past few days. Please note, although our business itself was spared, we have over 100 displaced employees and over 15 have lost everything. Thank you for the outpouring of support.
We are proud to be a part of the Gatlinburg Community. Our Flag that was hanging on the front of our Tramway Mall was recovered and our buildings stand and have VERY VERY limited damage. Thank you for all for the support, thoughts and prayers. The outpouring of support from the entire nation has been incredibly humbling. Thank you.
To all Ober Gatlinburg Employees: We hope the best for your safety. We are compiling a list of everyone who has been displaced. Please message our Ober Gatlinburg Facebook Account directly to report any displacement.
Due to this unfortunate situation, our operation will be closed today and tomorrow (Wednesday 11/30). We are gathering information and will give updates as we receive them. Our structure on the mountain and our animals in the Wildlife Encounter are safe. Please keep our rescue workers in your thoughts and prayers.
