So here's how our Boxing Day went:
7:00 am wake up and assess weather and whether we open.
8:00 am Go to Chalet-decide it is a go. 4 foot snowdrifts by Chalet. Gary fires up bombardier to plough out driveway and parking lot.
Heather updating website, social media and sending out email to let customers know that Boxing Day with 30 cm is a go!
8:45 get Camryn up to get tows ready and call in Brandon L to shovel out tow houses and lines.
Delay opening until noon to push snow for lift.
11:30 - customers walk in - stuck in Stony. Heather goes and picks them up and brings them to ski hill in Tundra. Their friends are also stuck so she picks them up and brings them to Stony.
Operate hill all day-mostly-Locals day except for a few hardy customers with 4 wheelers and the 2 families who got stuck in Stony.
5 pm close hill and then take customers back to their cars-ploughs haven't been out just private contractors doing peoples homes and the odd street. Car stuck on Park and Sellars-push them out. One of customers still stuck and had dead battery. Take staffer home and then get Gary, booster cables, long handle shovel and tow tope. Get to customer car- other truck boosting them but it stuck. Tow out that truck push customer out and come home!
6:45 Have a well earned beer and leftover perogies and perishkes!
