What makes Cooper so special? What keeps so many people coming back year after year, with an almost religious devotion? Why are some skiers starting to gravitate away from the mega resorts, and toward places like Cooper? Surrounded by some of the most elite and renowned ski resorts in the world, what is it that draws people to Cooper instead? The blog post is from 2014, but Troy Hawks (of CSCUSA at the time) *gets* it:
"This place continues to epitomize the operational nature and essence of the sport – just as it was several decades ago. [...] It’s pretty difficult to near impossible to reverse-engineer major infrastructure expansions and real estate developments. And once those pieces have been put in place, there is no way to make them more quiet or less noticeable. Ski Cooper offers a dressed down experience and true Rocky Mountain solitude that cannot be bottled and sold. It’s an asset other ski areas in the region can only envy, and it’s an experience worth breathing in and appreciating. As they say, history is fleeting, and so are the people who make it: once the real thing ceases to exist, we’re left with only memories of how it all used to be." - See more at: http://blog.coloradoski.com/2014/02/07/ski-cooper-a-gem-among-giants/#sthash.fd00ahrd.dpuf
Guess who will be here for first tracks on Christmas Eve? SANTA! Come take a run with the jolly old guy & get your pictures with Santa. Our Christmas Trio will play from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday as well! Come spend some family time with the Cooper family for the holidays!
Groomer Rocket called in to report 16" of fresh snow in the past 24hrs, as of 4:30am! And our apologies - the webcams went down last night, and with all of the snow to deal with, they may not be back up until mid-day. Sorry! You'll just have to trust Rocket on this one! ;-)
