Mountain Operations Update 12/8/16 @ 9:05am: The storm is approaching and we are experiencing high winds and cold temps. We are expecting over 40" of snow in the next few days, so stay tuned to our website and Facebook for condition and weather updates. Currently there is a down tree at milepost 35 and a down powerline, blocking traffic. WSDOT crews are there now and expecting the road to be open in an hour. The Mt. Rainier Gondola is closed due to high winds there will be no scenic gondola rides available today.
Update 9:40am: The down tree has been cleared and Hwy410 is now open in both directions. The Mt. Rainier Gondola and Northway are closed for the day due to high winds.
